WHISPERING OAKS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION
JANUARY 24, 2009 ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of the Whispering Oaks Homeowners' Association at the Anastasia Branch Library was called to order at 10:45 am by Dave Anderson, President.
Members, Marty Zydell and Rick Doucette, volunteered to count the ballots for the 2009 election of officers. The results of the ballot count were announced. Andrew Birchall and Bob Parker will serve as new Board members. Bob Parker stated that his position will be a temporary one until another member is found. He has served on the Board since 2001.
Dave Anderson thanked Nick Binder, the out-going Director, for his service on the Board. His expertise and years of excellent service as Director are greatly appreciated.
Dave Anderson asked all members to complete a form with email addresses and phone numbers in order to effectively communicate any WOHA news in the future.
New members attending the annual general meeting for the first time were introduced. They were Tony Brown and Andrew Birchall.
Pat Moyer, Treasurer, announced that the 2009 maintenance fees would remain the same as 2008 fees which are $580 per year. The deadline for payment is January 31, 2009.
Dave Anderson reflected on 2008 stating that our priorities were security and recovery. Expenses incurred were for fencing, surveillance cameras and gate repair. He hopes that 2009's priority will be one of frugality during the economic depression.
Pat Moyer stated that a 2008 Year-End-Financial Summary will be mailed to all WOHA members.
Dave Anderson announced that two important meetings regarding the Beach Walkway will on be January 26 and February 2 at the St. Augustine Beach City Hall. The City Commissioners will be taking action on this project which is located directly east of the Whispering Oaks gates on A1A Beach Blvd. Much discussion followed regarding the urgency of the final actions of the City Commission to proceed with this walkway.
Dave Anderson made a motion that a committee be formed by 5 WOHA members to represent our community at the Feb. 2nd meeting which will be open for public discussion. The members of this committee are: Joe Price, Andrew Birchall, Bill Griffith, John Ragosta and Dave Anderson. The motion was seconded by Bill Griffith.
The meeting was adjourned at 12 pm.
