WHISPERING OAKS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION May 16, 2009 Minutes Present: Dave Anderson, Bette MacDowell, Pat Moyer, Bob Parker, Walt
Walton Dave Anderson turned over to Walt Walton four full-color photos of "No Trespassing" signs that he had mounted on the west side of the Ewing Street fence. The two directors will deliver the photos and two similar photos of signs on our gates Monday for the purpose of securing law enforcement's attention to the problems posed by unauthorized persons on WOHA property. Walt is getting prices of gate extensions to prevent non-residents from entering by walking over the gate control boxes. Once these extensions are in place, the Board agreed on the advisability of changing the 8002 and 1121 gate codes to strengthen our security efforts. Dave also turned over to Bette MacDowell's custody the Board's supply of gate remotes, party keys and pump keys. In the future, Bette will handle the sale of new remotes. She will then have a better handle on updated addresses she can share with the Board. Pat said she believes she already has a "Use Madrid Street Gate" sign, making it unnecessary to buy another sign for use when the oceanside gate is out of service. She said it is imperative to remind those whose annual dues payments are past due to comply as soon as possible. About a dozen payments due January 31 and officially late April 30 still have not been received by the acting treasurer. Dave agreed to Pat's request to order two additional outdoor light fixtures as backups in the event that any existing streetside fixtures fail or are damaged. Bob Parker said he will purchase additional bulbs to replenish the stock of 5-year fluorescents already installed. Walt and Dave will meet with Robert Eberling during May to finalize the filing of a tax return, for which the deadline was extended during Pat's illness. A Budget Committee will meet beginning in September to consider 2010 budgetary needs. Membership will include the president, the treasurer and at least one other Board director. The Board will check with Andy Birchall at the June meeting on progress in reactivating the Architectural Review Committee. Respectfully submitted, Dave Anderson, acting secretary
